The Heart station Department of Divine Grace Medical Center provides the environment and facilities for specialized diagnostic procedures in the diagnosis and evaluation of patients with known or suspected heart-related symptoms and disorders.
2D ECHO WITH DOPPLER
The purpose of this study is to determine the size of your heart, to evaluate how well your heart is functioning or pumping, and to assess the structure and function of the valves within the heart. A Doppler echocardiogram measures the speed and direction of the blood flow within the heart. It is interpreted by the cardiologist.
STRESS TEST
A stress test, also called an exercise stress test, shows how your heart works during physical activity. Because exercise makes your heart pump harder and faster, an exercise stress test can reveal problems with blood flow within your heart.
HOLTER MONITORING
A Holter monitor is a small, wearable device that keeps track of your heart rhythm. Your doctor may want you to wear a Holter monitor for 24 hours. During that time, the device records all of your heartbeats.
ECG
An electrocardiogram records the electrical signals in your heart. It’s a common and painless test used to quickly detect heart problems and monitor your heart’s health.
VASCULAR
Vascular studies are tests that check the blood flow in your arteries and veins. These tests are noninvasive. This means they don’t use any needles. Vascular studies use high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to measure the amount of blood flow in your blood vessels. A small handheld probe (transducer) is pressed against your skin.,
